Ode to Asu Isak Swu

image

Fragile and lonely, in the wooden casket,
Layeth a man, bigger than his self;
Covered in blue with rainbow like the sky,
This sure was star who stayeth high.

My fathers speak of Asu Isak, the Yaruiwo,
Just like they spoke of David, the King;
Bright eyes and mighty but humble,
For God in him, never did he tremble.

Across the terrain and echoing mountains,
Fought with hope and held till last;
With the rejoicing sound- Urra Uvie,
Parallel with his best compatriot ever had.

Zion was near, his weary voice sang,
And time he needed, but he had none;
And thus Nagas lost the wise old man,
But left behind him, 600 mighty men.
